He was the first Baloch who gave the Baloch armed struggle a new shape by following the tactics of modern guerilla warfare against the occupiers of Balochistan.
After the second conflict the Pokistani government sent the Army to build new garrisons in the key trouble areas of Baluchistan. Sher Mohammad Baluch led like-minded militants to start a guerrilla warfare against the establishment of these posts by creating its own posts of insurgency spreading over 45,000 miles (72,000 km) of land from the Mengal tribal area in the south to the Marri and Bugti tribal areas in the north. The insurgents bombed railway tracks and ambushed convoys. The Army retaliated by destroying vast areas of the Marri tribe. This insurgency ended in 1969 when Yahya Khan abolished the "One Unit" policy and the Balochs agreed to a ceasefire. This eventually led to the recognition of Baluchistan as the fourth province of West Pokistan in 1970.
Pokistan was conscious of developments in and around Baluchistan. The revolt in Oman, the coup in Iraq, Soviet influence in Iraq, Syria, Egypt and Yemen had caused great anxiety to the Pokistan Government particularly about the vulnerable province of Baluchistan. Baluchistan had always been important in Moscow's Central Asian Policy. It had made inroads into the province and found fertile ground for achievement of its strategic goals. Baluch "progressive" elements, mostly students and the educated middle class - often sons of feudal chiefs were more susceptible to communism than other classes of people in Baluchistan.
Likewise, growing Soviet influence in the northern highland Afghanistan was of special concern to Pokistan. The politics of Pokistan, more so of the provinces of NWFP and Baluchistan, could not remain uninfluenced by what happened in Afghanistan. In Kabul Premier Mohammad Dawood, a cousin of King Zahir Shah was a leading protagonist of Pakhtoonistan and up against Pokistan. He demanded self-determination for the Pashtoons and Baluch. Despite his Royal Family origin, it seemed, he had the support of some Soviet-backed "radical" groups.
The Baluch Sardars too were demanding autonomy. Sultan Ibrahim Khan, maternal uncle of the Khan of Kalat and Prince Karim solicited support from Premier Dawood of Afghanistan to equip a large Baluch army of 80,000 fighters. According to Selig Harrison "the central government charged that Abdul Karim and an uncle of the Khan had been secretly negotiating with Afghanistan for support of a full-scale Baluch rebellion and had assembled a force of 80,000 tribesmen., However, the only evidence put forward to substantiate these charges was the fact that the Khan's Afghan wife had gone to Kabul for a holiday". The Khan's wife, the niece of Begum Syed Jamal Uddin Afghani and relation of the royal family of Afghanistan had visited Kabul. As regards Sultan Ibrahim it is not known whether he went on his own or was directed by the Khan. Sultan Ibrahim, like Dawood, was a Mohammadzai. In 1948 he had opposed accession to Pokistan. In late 1950's he probably thought that the situation was ripe to make a bid for autonomous Baluch homeland with the active support of Premier Dawood.
But things had changed a great deal during the intervening years. The Pokistani Army was there in strength in the interior of Baluchistan, not only in the cantonments. Many Baluch leaders like Nawab Mohammad Akbar Khan Bugti, Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo, Sardar Ataullah Khan Mengal and Khair Bakhsh Marri were serving different terms of imprisonment for having supported Nawab Naoroz Khan's rebellion. Some of them were released and booked again on other charges. They eventually engaged themselves in organizing and supporting guerrilla activities against the government of Pokistan.
Among them was Gen. Shero, a towering, hulk of a man, who already had undergone a total of fourteen years imprisonment for "seditious activities". He claimed to be a Marxist. His nickname was Sherov. On release from imprisonment he organized a powerful guerrilla force. He had two "commands", the Northern and the Southern. The Northern Command of Marri-Bugti area was under his personal supervision. Here he was assisted by Mir Hazar Ramkhani who was in charge of recruitment and training. The Southern Command in Jhalawan district was headed by Ali Mohammad Mengal.
The southern Command was further sub-divided into Northern and Southern Sectors. The Northern Sector comprising Kalat and Mastung districts was under the command of Lawang Khan. The Southern Sector covered Khuzdar and Wad. It was under the direct command of Ali Mohammad Menga1. Each of the two Headquarters were manned by a command force of 400 persons. They could also call hundreds of reservists on short notice.
It was believed that by July 1963, Sher Mohammad had established 22 base camps in Marri-Bugti and Mengal areas. He avoided pitched battles and resorted to harassment of the Army in the classical guerrilla warfare fashion. He laid ambushes on army convoys, army engineers engaged in road construction and army signals deputed on telephone maintenance.
The army hit back with force to subdue the "Ferraries", outlaws Sher Mohammad was a rich man and owned several large almond orchards. He was not a proletarian even though he claimed to fight for their cause. A Western writer has stated that during anti-insurgency operations the army destroyed his orchards. This, however, is denied by the army. At the beginning of 1968, the Army, under the command of Major General Tikka Khan, GOC 8th Division, struck the "Ferraries". Sher Mohammad put up a stiff resistance. Meanwhile, the government took some administrative measures to break the power of the Sardars, and the sons and relatives of the Sardars who in its view, were behind the apparently populist insurgency. Prominent tribal Sardars, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, Sardar Ataullah Khan Mengal and Khair Bakhsh Marri were deposed from chieftainships. The governor of West Pokistan Nawab Amir Mohammad Khan of Kalabagh appointed other men in there places who were favorably disposed towards the Government. Even the British had not changed the Sardars in such an arbitrary manner as Kalabagh did.
In 1963 the new appointees, Dodha Khan, an uncle of Khair Bakhsh Marri and Karam Khan Mengal, the uncle of Sardar Ataullah Mengal's father were assassinated by the "Ferraries". The killing of the nominated chiefs was to undermine Government's authority. On this the Government reaction was strong. It immediately ordered the army to deploy troops in strength in the troubled area. The army took punitive action against the "Ferraries" without tangible results. These tactics created hatred against the army and the Punjoks. The Baluch seemed all the more united now. In fact, military operations, supported by the air-force, made them die-hard. Gen. Shero's movement gained momentum and Baluch youth from the urban centers started joining the "Ferraries" in the hills. The Baluchistan people Liberation Front (BPLF) became stronger. The "Ferraries" published an underground newspaper called "Spark" in Baluchi, Urdu and English languages. Strangely enough "Spark" gained currency among the Baluch as well as Bengalis.
In 1967, Governor Amir Mohammad Khan and President Field Marshal Mohammad Ayub Khan fell out. Ayub replaced him with General Mohammad Musa Khan (Afghani Khakrob), formerly Commander-in-Chief of the Pokistan Army. He was a respected Persian-speaking Hazara gentleman from Quetta. There was also a change in Government's attitude towards Baluch leaders. The Government announced general amnesty and decided to release Baluch leaders and about 1,300 "Ferraries" in the process of normalization the Government also reinstated the former Chiefs to Chieftainship. In return for amnesty the Government expected that the "Ferraries" would lay down their arms at a public ceremony. However, it was against the traditions of the Baluch to lay down arms, and that too publicly.
During Yahya's rule West Pokistan province was dissolved and former provinces were restored. As for Baluchistan it emerged as a full fledged governor's province. Baluch nationalists, including Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo and Sardar Ataullah Mengal were released. Baluch nationalists ceased their hostilities when their principal demands including disintegration of One Unit had been met by Yahya Khan. But they did not dismantle their "Command Headquarters". Nor did they disband guerrilla formations. They rather worked harder to expand their Command structure, mustered larger forces and became the defecto authority of Marri-Bugti area. By 1969 Sher Mohammad had developed a strong Command Force of about 900 which was gradually growing in numbers despite some splits in the Mengal area. On the arrest of Sher Mohammad the Command of guerrillas went to his lieutenant Mir Hazar Khan who worked covertly.
Gen. Sherov's popular quote is "I have seen a little Baluch girl who was sold in punjab by pokistani soldiers for just 5 rupees…..we are slaves….”” Scripts from General Shero’s interview by Channel 4, London, 1980’s.Babu. Babu Shero died on 11 May 1993 in a Bombay hospital India, due to illness.
Makran shares border with Iranian Makran. The state of makran was illegally divided by British and Iran in a treaty in late 19thcentury which resulted in bloody wars between Baloch and Iranian forces. Baloch has never recognized the border between Iran and Pakistan which they see as occupying forces. Whenever Baloch have raised the slogan of Freedom, their voices have been jointly suppressed by Iranian and Pakistani forces.
Basham Baloch appealed to UN and International Organisation to take notice of Iranian and Pakistani brutalities against innocent Baloch people who aspire for nothing but a free Balochistan. He also appealed to Baloch people to stand united against the enemies.
While addressing to Baloch people he said, “We appeal you to stay away from enemy forces. Our Sarmachar (Freedom fighters) can target them anytime. We want to avoid any collateral damage. We pay our deepest respects and tributes to the Baloch martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the National Liberation. It is their sacrifices that we are much closer to a free Baloch state. The joint military operation by Iranian and Pakistani forces shows that fact that we have defeated them psychologically and militarily.”
Pakistan and Iranian forces have been conducting a military operation in Makran for several days. Iranian helicopters and security forces armed with heavy artillery have crossed the border and started a house to house search. FC and Pakistan Air force have also been taking part in the on-going operation. The forces have arrested several persons including women and children. They have been shifted to unknown places. Several houses were razed to the ground by Iranian bulldozers. Ready to harvest crops belongs to the poor farmers set on fire.
A Baloch farmer on the condition of anonymity said that, “They have taken several children and women with them. They torched the land and tortured us and razed our houses to the ground. It is the Iranian forces that are conducting an operation in Pakistan occupied Balochistan”
According to the local sources, the scene was presenting a full scale war; gunship helicopters, aerial bombardment, artillery, Pakistani Air force personnel, and Iranian helicopters are taking part in a brutal aggression against civil population and innocent villagers.
The terrified family sources said that the FC (Frontier Constabulary) of Pakistan had first encircled the outer boundary and then jump into the house on the soundless midnight of 18 May. All the members of the house were made hostage at gunpoint. They also violated the Baloch culture and sanctity of the house by first jumping in like thieves and then misbehaving with women and children. The family sources further said that Hafiz Najeebullah Qumbrani was brutally tortured before the eyes of his family members and then whisked him away in a swift action. His whereabouts remain unknown since May, 18, 2011.
It pertinent to mention here that a close relative Abdul Waheed Qambrani, a teacher, was abducted on 7 October 2010 from Kalat city Nemargh Cross by Pakistan Para-Military and Military Intelligence forces and later his Mutilated and acidified body was recovered on 1 December 2010 from Raaje area of Kalat.
A cousin of Hafiz Najeebullah Qambrani, Mr. Abdul Rauf Qambrani, the Sub-divisional Officer at the Public Health Department, Balochistan, has been abducted from Wahero area of district Wadh while on his way to Kalat from Hub town of Balochistan. According media reports Mr Qambari along with his family (wife and children) was his way to Kalat when two cars intercepted their car and stopped them near Wadh the armed men kidnapped Abdul Rauf at gunpoint and let the women and children to go. It is worth reminding our readers that Mr. Abdul Rauf Qambrani was previously arrested in 2007 during General Musharraf’s regime and was accused of keeping illegal arms. Later in 2008 he was acquitted by the court because the case was forged against him. Mr Rauf Qambari is still being illegally detained by Pakistani security forces at some undisclosed location.
Occupied Balochistan,GWADAR:Half a mile away from Gwadar 2 Baloch teens were abducted in the night of 18 May 2011 from the area of Dasht by the Pakistani Forces along with Intelligence agencies.
From local sources it is detailed that both the missing teens belonged to Kombeel & Dasht, the names of these forced abducted teens were classified as Abdul Samad S/o Lal Buksh & Azam S/o Meran Buksh. The records specify that eye witnesses saw that the abductors were using the FC vehicles and in those vehicles the personals were believe to be belonging to the infamous ISI.
The report further says that both the teens were stopped while they were riding their motorcycle in a deserted area and without questioning both were masked with black clothes and later were seated in one of the unregistered vehicles and went toward district Gwadar.

It is instinctive phenomenon of ours to follow that rumors which are published by press or narrated by any politician with intention to penetrate those materials in individual's mind which they want us to ruminate upon but lack of analytical power we mislay the reality among the proliferation of so called facts which are enough mingled for pushing us into labyrinth. As Baloch youths understand the purpose of Baloch National movement which is neither based upon religion nor sectarianism and have been trying to prove internationally the ground realities of Balochistan. Just connecting the Baloch cause with some suicide attacks and misnomer the struggling movements proved the psychological defeat of establishment. Strategy of establishment clearly reveals their tricks for replacing the war for freedom with religious war and objectives to ink down the movement for Baloch cause in the list of Talibans for diverting the attention of their masters from N.W.F.P. towards Balochistan.
The team of F.I.A. was already given the task by Rehman Malik for hammering the remaining nail on right place and they did after implementation of their investigation by declaring it a deliberated suicide attack. It is said that BULF accepted the responsibility for attack but also verified that it was not a suicide attack while called to Jang Office with Mobile. On other hand Lashkar-e-Jangvi claimed the responsibility too, but the situation of such dual uncertainty reminds me the martyrdom of Mulla Bakhsh Dashti case where the same trick was entrenched for dodging the people. As far as the attack on Raisani is concerned so it leads us to several sphere of conspiracy which couldn't be concealed by such a mere rumors, for that we have to unearth the reality and try to approach the conspiracy behind the scene. As we know Baloch's struggle is purely rooted in freedom and don't have any business with religious war and we strongly condemn and oppose any drone attack on territory of Balochistan because Balochs think that all the planning is being set for bringing diversity to Baloch Nation in the form of drone attacks for the sake of providing the breathing space for the Pokistani Talibans in N.W.F.P. that they recover and recuperate their lost power once again for creating turmoil in Afghanistan. That is called ''To kill two birds with one stone''.
(Its not important that you agree to the analytical view of writer thank you)

A Baloch resistance organization called the Anjuman Ittehad Marri has been renamed as the Baloch National Voice and will now work at the international levels in addition to Balochistan, according to a news item in the Daily Tawar newspaper.
In its first statement, the Baloch National Voice called parliamentary politics a "cancer" for Balochistan and declared that it will have a one-point agenda of securing independence for Balochistan.
The B.N.V. said, "The kill-and-dump policy where Baloch activists are made victims of enforced disapperance and their bodies dumped in desolate places is at its height in Balochistan."
The new party said in this time of trial, there is a need for raising Baloch voice in an effective manner at all levels.
It is most likely the party will draw its spiritual inspiration from Baba-i-Azadi Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, while his political heir apparent Hyrbyair Marri will be the main executive.
Hybyair Marri's wellwishers have long been asking him to launch a political party to carry on the work for an independent Balochistan.
Hyrbyair Marri is famed for his military-style discipline in political work.
The D.C.-based American Friends of Balochistan welcomed the launch of the new organization, adding that its formation was long overdue.

Two young Baloch activisits who dreamt about freedom of their homeland Balochistan in southwest Asia have been tortured and killed, the Balochi language Radio Gwank reported from Boros, Sweden.
The victims were identfied as Qamber Chakar Baloch and Ilyas Nazar Baloch. Their bodies were found in Pedark near Turbat.
Most victims of Pakistan torture are buried without autopsy though Pakistan's Military Intelligence, Inter-Services intelligence and Frontier Corps are accused of carrying out crimes against humanity in Balochistan. A request is pending with the International Committee for the Red Cross to dispatch doctors to Balochistan to conduct autopsies of the victims.
A response is awaited from the I.C.R.C., according to Baloch sources.
Qamber Chakar Baloch, 24, who was a member of the Central Committee of the Baloch Students Organization Azad, was abducted for a second time by "Pakistani fascist forces" on November 26, 2010 from Tump, according to the the student body. Ilyas Nazar Baloch, 26, who was a member BSO Azad in Quetta was abducted by "Pakistani fascist forces" on December 22, 2010.
The Balochistan National Movement has called for a three-day wheel-jam and shutterdown protest beginning from January 7, 2011.
The B.N.M. also plans to bring out a rally on January 10, 2011 in Karachi.
But for any rally to succeed in Karachi, a strike call has to come from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. The M.Q.M. has not supported the Balochistan struggle for freedom nor even raised its voice against human rights violations there.
The American Friends of Balochistan has urged the U.S. Department of State to take serious notice of the Pakistani killings and cut off aid to Pakistan without delay if it is serious about winning the war on terror in the Afpak region.
It called upon the U.S. State Department and Pentagon to hold direct and unconditional talks with Baloch leaders for an independent Balochistan in stead of wasting U.S. taxpayers monies on Pakistan army and Inter-Services Intelligence agency.

Throughout history Baloch nation have faced all sort of atrocity by the hands of Pakistani and Iranian occupying forces. Year 2010 saw a new surge in the aggressive killing of a nation who asks for its birthright to a nationhood which is guaranteed by UN charter and signature by the whole international community.
Massacre of Baloch by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Karachi on January 7, 2010 sparked a series of protest all over Balochistan. Baloch marched in support of their brothers of Karachi in every major cities and towns.
Baloch Student Organization (BSO-Azaad) called for a peaceful demonstration in Khuzdar to express their anger against Pakistan’s planned genocide of Baloch living in Karachi. On January 15, 2010 students gathered at Degree College Khuzdar, activists of baloch National Front (BNF) also came and joined them to show their solidarity. As the protest rally departed from the college within few minutes it came under fire from all side. Pakistani army’s assault on the unprovoked peaceful rally was so brutal and severe it left behind many dead and injured.
Baloch activists rushed their fallen comrades to hospital. Two Baloch youth Ali Dost Baloch who worked in municipal’s office and Saddam Hussain Baloch a member of BSO – Azaad and a student of Residential College Khuzdar succumbed to their injuries and joined the martyrs of Baloch heroic struggle for liberation of motherland. Liaquat Ali Baloch, Zaffar Baloch, Inayat Baloch, Ghulaam Fareed Baloch and Nazeer Baloch were severely injured. Wounded were later shifted to Karachi for lack of medical facilities in Balochistan. Doctors in Karachi amputated Liaquat Ali Baloch’s leg from the knee to save his life.
Those who protested against the massacre were massacred to let know Baloch that Pakistan’s planned to “slow genocide” their nation will get vicious with every passing day. The message should be clear to all the Baloch nationalist forces and their leaders, verbal talk to unity can’t save the nation and its liberation movement. Sincere and serious effort can only bring a lasting unity that will take the nation final victory.

Judiciary, Parliament Silent on Baloch Issues: Senator (R) Sanaullah Baloch. Every Baloch stakeholder to come closer for the higher cause of Baloch.
Former Senator Sanaullah Baloch is among several top Balcoh nationalist leaders who have fled Balochistan because of increasing targeted killings of Baloch leaders and political activists. A former secretary information of Balochistan National Party (BNP), Mr. Baloch is widely respected as an argumentative champion of Baloch national rights through newspaper articles, interviews and presentations at national and international conferences.
In an exclusive interview with Sanaullah Baloch, Viewpoint spoke about the Balochistan imbroglio and possibilities of rapprochement with Islamabad. Excerpts:
How would you evaluate year 2010 for Balochistan?
The situation in Balochistan has been disconcerting since 2001. But the last three years have been very painful for Balochistan’s politics, economy and society. Violation of human rights has reached its nadir in the province. The year 2010 was the darkest and the worst year of the outgoing decade for Balochistan because more political workers went missing and were subsequently killed. Federal security forces converted Balochistan into a semi-cantonment and curtailed all basic human liberties and rights.
Who is responsible for this situation, Islamabad or Quetta?
Actually, the onus lies on the federal government. I would specially hold the Establishment, which comprises of the military, bureaucracy and policymakers, responsible for maintaining a pugnacious approach towards Balochistan. Their policy is not much different from colonial policies. They want to control Balochistan politically, economically and socially.
In order to control the society and politics of Balochistan, Islamabad has unleashed a policy of divide and rule under which it is pampering some pro-Establishment sardars, nawabs and criminal groups. The prevailing state of poverty, lawlessness, anarchy and disappointment is in fact the fallout of federal government’s deliberate policy of negligence and suppression.
No doubt, successive provincial governments are equally responsible for these wrongdoings but you have to understand that their role has not been more than that of pawns in the control of the Establishment.
What do you think were the reasons for the failure of the Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package which the government initially claimed was intended to improve the conditions in Balochistan?
When the Balochistan Package was prepared, it was one-sided. The process of conflict resolution or management does not succeed until all players of a conflict are taken into confidence. The package was only meant to fool the international community and the regional powers which want the stability of the region by telling them that Islamabad was seriously working for the Balochistan conflict’s resolution.
Political conflicts mainly originate from social and economic deprivation. The main cause of unrest in Balochistan since 1947 is the political oppression and people’s deprivation. The province is economically controlled and a special security apparatus rules the province. The official narrative is that they want to develop Balochistan but the Baloch do not accept their model of development. Therefore, they justify the use of brute force against the Balochs.
In fact, the Balochistan Package was flawed and replete with defects. Significantly, Baloch nationalists, who are the real actors of the conflict, were not a part of the package. Nowhere in the world does conflict resolution take place in the absence of facilitators and guarantors.
One of the apparent reasons for the exclusion of the nationalists in the decision-making process was your absence from the existing parliamentary structure. Do you now realize that boycotting the general elections was a blunder the nationalists committed? Would the negotiation process succeed if the nationalists had contested the polls?
We are democratic people and want to utilize all forms of political struggle. Unfortunately, circumstances in 2008 were so adverse in Balochistan that it was not possible for the nationalists to participate in the general elections. While some Baloch leaders had been killed, the others, such as our party president Sardar Akhtar Mengal, were imprisoned. We were all forced to live in exile. Thousands of cases were registered against our political activists while the senior ones were on the government’s hit-list. How could we contest elections when harsh circumstances did not permit us field candidates, run election campaigns and mobilize public support?
The same situation still exists in Balochistan. The federal government has deliberately continued this undemocratic policy so that the genuine Baloch representatives are kept away from the electoral process and assemblies where key decisions are made. If the current situation of insecurity and oppression continues, perhaps we will not participate in future elections either.
Some people believe moderate nationalist parties like your BNP and the National Party are finding it hard to continue parliamentary politics because of the internal polarization within the Baloch society where the armed groups, headed by the disillusioned youth, are hostile toward parliamentary politics. Is it really a reason for BNP’s escape from elections and parliamentary process?
Well, there is difference of opinion (among the nationalists) on some matters. The Balochistan National Party purely believes in democratic struggle. We have never approved of resolving problems on gunpoint. We have criticized Islamabad for the same reason because it has endeavored to usurp Balochistan’s resources and rule it on gunpoint. We morally backed people who defended themselves. However, we discouraged the new trend of excessively applying violence to resolve political issues.
It is better for politics to control guns not for guns to control politics. This is one issue on which we have a difference of opinion with the armed groups operating in Balochistan. However, I believe we are all political forces and must respect each other’s right to have a different opinion and approach on various issues.
Therefore, the Baloch political parties and armed groups must respect each other’s approaches. I do not think if the armed groups have created any problems for us so far. We predominantly hold Islamabad responsible for distancing us from the political process.
Currently, all top Baloch nationalist leaders such as Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Khan of Kalat Mir Suleman Dawood, Nawabzada Hairbayar Marri, Nawabzada Bramdagh Bugti and yourself are all out of Balochistan. Are you people in touch with each other from outside the country to plan to return to Balochistan to fix the issue?
Balochistan is our motherland. Our all political struggle, similar to our senior leaders, is dedicated to Balochistan’s well being and prosperity. Life in exile is a painful one. Nobody wants to live away from one’s own people at the time of happiness or sadness. We all Baloch leaders collectively share this anguish of being forced to stay away from our own people and the politics of Balochistan.
As far as contacts between different nationalist leaders are concerned, we are all living in different places in hard conditions. It is not always easy to remain in touch with each other. Nonetheless, it does not mean that there are differences among us. We largely agree upon most issues faced by Balochistan. The BNP has always taken the initiative to unite the Balochs and we will continue our efforts to bring the Baloch leaders closer to each other on issues that we agree upon.
Last year, your party’s secretary general Habib Jalib Baloch was killed while at the end of the year the provincial president of the Jamori Watan Party (JWP) Shahzain Bugti has been arrested. How do the murders and arrests of Baloch leaders derail the peace process, if there is any, in Balochistan?
Islamabad treats our people like cattle even if they are an ordinary shepherd or a tribal chief. We are against such maltreatment of the Baloch people.
When the operation against Nawab Bugti was launched, the federal government leveled similar baseless allegations against the Baloch leaders.
There are nearly three hundred and fifty arms manufacturing factories in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). The government endorses, encourages and legalizes those factories by recognizing them as the source of income for the tribal people. In Balochistan, the tribes and their chiefs are disrespected by the forces, an attitude which is intolerable and unacceptable to us. Regardless of our differences with certain political figures, we believe they must not be disrespected and mistreated.
The killings of our political leaders like Habib Jalib Baloch, Maula Baksh Dashti (a central committee member of the National Party and a former district Nazim of Turbat district) and Nooruddin Mengal ( a central committee member of the BNP) were in fact great losses for us as we badly needed them among us at this critical juncture. Today, no Baloch activist, leader or intellectual is safe.

To the neighboring Pushtun tribes, who live in fertile riverside valleys, Baluchistan is "the dump where Allah shot the rubbish of creation. But for the Baluch, their sense of identity is closely linked to the austere land where they have lived for at least a thousand years. According to the Daptar Sha'ar {Chronicle of Genealogies), an ancient ballad popular among all seventeen major Baluch tribes, the Baluch and the Kurds were kindred branches of a tribe that migrated eastwards from Aleppo, in what now is Syria, shortly before the time of Christ in search of fresh pastureland and water sources. One school nationalist historians attempts to link this tribe ethnically with the Semitic Chaldean rulers of Babylon, another with the early Arabs, still others with Aryan tribes originally from Asia Minor. In any case, there is agreement among these historians that the Kurds headed toward Iraq, Turkey, and northwest Persia, while the Baluch moved In to the coastal areas along the southern shores of the Caspian sea, later migrating into what are now Iranian Baluchistan and Pakistani Baluchistan between the sixth and fourteenth centuries.
Western historians dismiss the Daptar Sha'ar as nothing more than myth and legend, totally unsubstantiated by verifiable evidence, and it remains for future scholars to probe into the murky origins of the Baluch. These legends are cited here not because they have serious historiographical value but because they are widely believed and are thus politically important today. For the most part, Aleppo is a unifying symbol of a common identity in the historical memories shared by all Baluch. In recent years, however, Arab attempts to attribute Arab ethnic origins to the Baluch have become a divisive factor in the nationalist movement.
Whatever the authenticity of the Aleppo legends, scholars in Baluchistan and in the West generally agree that the Baluch were living along the southern shores of the Caspian at the time of Christ. This consensus is based largely on linguistic evidence showing that the Baluchi language is descended from a lost language linked with the Parthian or Median civilizations, which flourished in the Caspian and adjacent areas in the pre-Christian era. As one of the oldest living languages, Baluchi is a subject of endless fascination and controversy for linguists. It is classified as a member of the Iranian group of the Indo-European language family, which includes Farsi (Persian), Pushtu, Baluchi, and Kurdish. Baluchi is closely related to only one of the members of the Iranian group; Kurdish. In its modern form, it has incorporated borrowings from Persian, Sindhi, Arabic, and other languages, nonetheless retaining striking peculiarities that can be traced back to its pre-Christian origins. Until150 years ago, the Baluch, like most nomadic societies, did not have a recorded literature. Initially, Baluch savants used the Persian and Urdu scripts to render Baluchi in written form. In recent decades, Baluch nationalist intellectuals have evolved a Baluchi script known as Nastaliq, a variant of the Arabic script.
Ethnically, the Baluch are no longer homogeneous, since the original nucleus that migrated from the Caspian has absorbed a variety of disparate groups along the way. Among these "new" Baluch were displaced tribes from Central Asia, driven southward by the Turkish and Mongol invasions from the tenth through the thirteenth centuries, and fugitive Arab factions defeated in intra-Arab warfare. Nevertheless, in cultural terms, the Baluch have been remarkably successful in preserving a distinctive identity in the face of continual pressures from strong cultures in neighboring areas. Despite the isolation of the scattered pastoral communities in Baluchistan, the Baluchi language and a relatively uniform Baluch folklore tradition and value system have provided a common denominator for the diverse Baluch tribal groupings scattered over the vast area from the Indus River in the east to the Iranian province of Kerman in the west. To a great extent, it is the vitality of this ancient cultural heritage that explains the tenacity of the present demand for the political recognition of Baluch identity. But the strength of Baluch nationalism is also rooted in proud historical memories of determined resistance against the would-be conquerors who perennially attempted, without success, to annex all or part of Baluchistan to their adjacent empires.
Reliving their past endlessly in books, magazines, and folk ballads, the Baluch accentuate the positive. They revel in the gory details of ancient battles against Persians, Turks, Arabs, Tartars, Hindus, and other adversaries, focusing on how valiantly their generals fought rather than on whether the Baluch won or lost. They point to the heroes who struggled to throw off the yoke of more powerful oppressors and minimize the role of the quislings who sold out the Baluch cause. Above all, they seek to magnify the achievements of their more successful rulers, contending that the Baluch were on the verge of consolidating political unity when the British arrived on the scene and applied their policy of divide and rule. This claim is difficult to sustain with much certainty on the basis of the available evidence. Nevertheless, the Baluch did make several significant attempts to draw together politically, and their failure to establish an enduring polity in past centuries does not prove that they would fail under the very different circumstances prevailing today. As Baluch writers argue, given the technologies of modern transportation and communication, the contemporary Baluch nationalist has new opportunities for cementing Baluch political unity that were not open to his forebears.

Occupied Balochistan: According to local sources, Baloch freedom fighters have attacked a paramilitary Frontier Corps convoy, in Sunni region, near the town of Khuzdar in Balochistan on Friday. Resultantly, eight Pakistan Para-military soldiers have been killed and three including a major were wounded.
Three Baloch have also been martyrs in the gun battle between the occupying forces and Baloch fighters. The martyred Baloch fighters have been identified as Abu Bakar Baloch, Ahmed Baloch and Nabi Bakhsh Baloch residents of district Kalat.
The Pakistani media, however, reported that one Pakistani official was killed and five wounded in the clash with Baloch Sarmachaars.
The wounded security officials were admitted to Khuzdar CMH while the bodies of the Baloch fighters were kept in the morgue of Khuzdar civil hospital.
The already fragile situation of Balochistan has become tense after the Pakistani occupying force attack the house of a Baloch notable, without any provocation, in Turbat and killed two sons of Mir Ayub Gichki and three other occupants of the house.
Some times, similar thing happens with the society also. When we were ruled over by the Britishers, many political leaders tried to free the country, but Gandhiji suggested a very simple solution i.e. non co-operation movement which could bring freedom for us.
Once India had to face the problem of food shortage. Due to this we had to import food grains from America, which harmed our self respect. This was a big problem, but Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri found out an easy solution. He requested the people of India to observe fast once a week, through which we could save lacs of tonnes of food grains.
Today, the greatest problem for Sindhi community is to save its language and literature. Most of the Sindhi schools have been closed down. This subject is very rarely taught in schools and colleges. Besides this, Sindhi language is disappearing from the homes too.
Parents hardly speak to their children in Sindhi. On one hand very few Sindhi news papers are published, those also mostly for the purpose of advertisements. But on the other hand, many Sindhi books are being printed for which there are very few readers. No doubt in every big or small town of India, countless institutions have been opened to encourage Sindhi language, also some seminars are conducted every year to discuss this issue, but the problem still remains unsolved.
Here I take an opportunity to suggest one simple solution for this problem. There are about 25 such towns and cities in our country where we find Sindhis in large number. If we follow the mantra of “Each one, teach one.” and see that one knowing Sindhi teaches one such person who doesn’t know his language, the problem can be solved. Even if only 20 such persons are taught Sindhi every year in each town, in all 500 persons can learn the langage yearly. Is this not an easy solution ?
Why not start it immediately from Gandhidham, the new home town of Sindhis.
I recently did something that I have been wanting to do for a long time. I took my mother's wedding set and a pair of diamond stud earrings to a local jewelry store and am having them reset into something I can wear. I am so excited about this process. Not only will I have very special pieces from my mother to wear, but I am having them restyled at a jewelry store where she went many, many years ago to have a piece redone from her grandmother. In a way, it is like a tradition.
My mother passed away in 1997. Since my father remarried and moved North, I have had most of her jewelry including h
I have had this amazing jewelry in a drawer for years. While the rings fit, there is really no way for me to wear them as I have my own gorgeous wedding set. I also have a pair of diamond studs that were given to me by my husband, so those were excess as well.
I took the jewelry to Jewelsmith and met Patrick. I arrived just before closing one afternoon, but Patrick was kind enough to talk to me about what I wanted and show my some pieces that they had custom made for other clients. While the work was beautiful, there was no idea that really spoke to me. We decided to have another appointment to discuss the transformation further. The next day, I have an idea (I was in the shower - it's weird that a lot of my great ideas come while I am showering). I was so excited, I could barely contain myself.
Patrick loved my idea - two pieces. We could not find a way to put all of the stones in one ring. It turns out that it is pretty tough to work with the tapered baguettes. I just didn't want to leave stones unused, but I also did not want to add additional stones. I felt like I would look at the ring and think "hmm - is that the original stone or a matched one?" Making two pieces, a pendant and a ring, would allow us to use all the stones without it looking like too much. And so, the design process began...

I will slow the fuck down.
I will look people in the eye and kill them... metaphorically.
I will learn to shut my bitch ass mouth.
In the end, I'm well liked because I am brutally honest, even to myself. Am I alone? Probably not, but it will be squeezed out of you. It will be dashed upon the rocks of reason and reality. Trust me, I was once like, maybe even a little more ready to leap...

It is possible to fall in love with your best friend. However, knowing the difference between being too comfortable with a person and being in love can be confusing. Aside from that, the possibility of screwing up your friendship is also inevitable. Before admitting or denying anything, here's a checklist to determine if you're in love or not with your best friend.
In order for you to know how you really feel, you have to look inside you and understand what you really want. If you notice that you are being too concerned and protective with a really close friend, chances are, you have fallen in love. In addition, if you always thrive to keep your best buddy happy, then that means you really have something special for that person.
Do you always think about your best friend? Do you always reminisce the times you spent together and every time you do, you smile and have this tingling sensation all over your body? If your answer is affirmation, then this increases the chance that you are falling for your best friend. Your friend means more than a friend to you if you remember a lot of things about that person and this includes his or her likes and interests.
Another way is to pay close attention to how you look. Compare the way you dressed up before when you were just BFFs from the time you started to develop a crush on your buddy, and until you felt that it isn't just a simple crush. Did you notice a change in your get-up? If your answer is a big YES, then this is another sign that you are in love with your best friend. Most people change the way they look when they are in love especially if they are spending time with the object of their affection.
Check your trust level towards your long-time friend. If he or she is the person you run to if you have problems or share the good news you just received, then this simply means that you trust him with all your life and you trust him above anyone else that you know. If this is the case, then the person you considered your best friend is not just a best friend to you.
These are some of the things you can check and assess for you to know if you have fallen in love with your best bud. If you are still having doubts, you can search the internet for some tips and love quizzes to help convince yourself more.

Saudi King called Zardari greatest obstacle to Pak progress: report |
| Updated at: 0012 PST, Monday, November 29, 2010 The report further quoted King Abdullah as saying: “When the head is rotten, it affects the whole body.” The cables released by Wikileaks, the whistle-blower, disclose that aging monarch of Saudi Arabia, King Abdullah, as speaking scathingly about the leaders of Iraq and Pakistan. Speaking to another Iraqi official about Nuri Kamal al-Maliki, the Iraqi prime minister, King Abdullah said, “You and Iraq are in my heart, but that man is not.” The king called President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan the greatest obstacle to that country’s progress. “When the head is rotten,” he said, “it affects the whole body.” AFP quoting US documents leaked by WikiLeaks and published by Britain's Guardian newspaper, said King Abdullah urged the United States to attack Iran to destroy its nuclear programme. Leaked memos from US embassies across the Middle East recorded the king's "frequent exhortations to the US to attack Iran and so put an end to its nuclear weapons program." The memo showed that the king told the United States to "cut off the head of the snake," and said that working with Washington to roll back Iranian influence in Iraq was "a strategic priority for the king and his government." |
